Sweet Fennel is a clear oil, steam distilled from the crushed seeds. Historically the sweet aromatic aniseed like tasting seeds were chewed by travelling Roman soldiers to ease hunger and suppress hunger when food was scarse. Fennel is known for its ability to assist with digestive and abdominal discomfort.
Anecdotally it is a natural diuretic, antispasmodic, antiseptic, diuretic, stimulant and soothes the stomach. Blends well with geranium, lavender, grapefruit and lemon.
